What to Wear

Don’t let not having the equipment hold you back! Riding hats, boots, and body protectors can all be borrowed from Moor Farm, free of charge. We recommend wearing a long sleeve top if possible, and if you don’t own jodhpurs, wear tracksuit bottoms or leggings (anything without a seam).

Lesson Payment

Prices: We are incredibly pleased to be able to offer a one hour lesson (including transport & equipment hire) for £25! Moor Farm have very kindly offered us a special rate, as they are committed to increasing participation in equestrian sport!

Payment for lessons and training MUST be made before you ride, using the relevant link below. Unfortunately, you will not be allowed to ride until you have paid. Don't worry, all lessons cost the same, but we have separated the links to make our Treasurer's life easier!

Please note - You must be a member of the Riding Club in order to participate in lessons. Membership can be bought online through the Warwick SU website, alongside the necessary offsite sports club fee. You will not be able to have a lesson unless you are a member for insurance purposes.

How do I sign up for a lesson?

  1. Follow the link at the top of the page. The form will be live from Monday to Friday for the following week and lessons are assigned on a first come first serve basis.
  2. Fill in the form with your name, student number, what lesson you would like to be in, your phone number, email, and whether or not you can drive.
  3. Check your emails on Sunday for a confirmation email from the Lessons Coordinator, this will let you know who will be driving you as well as who else is in your lesson.

When do I find out if I have a place on the lesson?

The Lessons Coordinator will email you on Sunday letting you know whether you have a place in the lesson. If you do not receive a conformation email, you unfortunately don't have a place in that week's lesson(s).

How much will a lesson cost me?

Lessons cost £25 each. This includes travel to and from campus and then an hour lesson. This needs to be paid for after the lesson confirmation and before the lesson, or you will not be able to take part. Lessons must be cancelled 24 hours in advance or the full amount will be payable. When lessons are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, such as illness, it may be possible to take the payment forward onto another lesson.

I have a car and can drive lessons, can I get a discount?

No, but your petrol will be reimbursed (see below).

So, how do I cover my petrol costs if I drive a lesson?

Driving to Moor Farm and back will cost £4.50 in petrol (£0.25 a mile), and this can be paid back to you in full.

Can I get lesson packages if I know I am going to be riding regularly?

Unfortunately we are unable to provide lesson packages so you will need to pay for each lesson separately.
